And everyone was tired of "Open World All the Things" Yet another Open world game dong nothing new or different.Īnd so the hate was not because it was bad. Most of them were bad, and all of the good ones were the same, and there were a few gems in there.Īnd SO many open world games were all exactly the same doing nothing special. The issue was this game released during the BIG Open world BOOM. It was not a bad game, this is where the context of the situation and time is important. What do you guys think about it if you played it and why did it get all that hate back then? I really like this game and would give it a strong 8,5/10. The graphics IMO look very good for a game of it's age and THE SKYBOXES, omg the skyboes in this game are simply put the best looking in any game I've played.įinally I want to talk about exploration, many people called this game the open world game of open world games, and after playing I don't understand this at all, there are no pointless colectables in this game, no repetitive side missions, the activities you have in the map can be divided in two: the ones that lower the threat in teh area(wich unlocks new upgrades for the car) and ones just so you dont drive too long without something to do and are completely optional and even if you stop to do them, you spend mostly 1-2 min. The driving feels very good and is linked directly with how you build your Magnum Opus (Max's car), so you can have a tank of a car with loads of defense but sacrifice some aceleration or have a rocket with no armor at all and everything in between. Progression is maybe my favourite part of the game with you unlocking new upgrades constantly and not only are they usefull they are all cosmetic, meaning not only do you feel your Max and car getting more powerfull you also see it, it's a great inclusion and some of the things that make the game stand out for me. Car combat is very good as well with the game giving you multiple ways to take down enemies. So the gampley feels great, the hand to hand combat is arkhan inspired just like every 3rd person acion game was back then but it has some twists tha make it unique like the fury mode where Max deals more damage and the melee weapons. Things look to new.) It looks like upholstry fabric.I've recently beat Mad Max on PC after 30 hrs of gameplay and doing almost 100% and I really don't understand what's wrong with it and all the hate it got beacause everything it sets out to do it does it at least in a decent way, besides the story that may feel a bit weak. It looks fine during the scenes at the train depot, looks worse during the icecream scene(This is also the only time the flaps are loose and you can see how they wrap around to cinch the arms) and looks downright terrible at Mays farm.(I like how scruffy the bikers look, that is something just about every movie in this style gets wrong. The other thing was how the red/brown material is coming apart. This is a little surprising as just about all the other bikers wear gear from the period. I searched every brand I could come up with, that was around in the seventies, and no one made any kind of pull over jacket, much less one similar to the Toecutters. The jacket must have been made for the movie. The diamonds are red/white/green but painted black in the movie, the small Alpinestar logo on the heel is also blacked out. Those are six strap, have the vibram style sole, no guards with the stitched pattern, and the three diamonds at the front/top of the boot. The boots are probably Roger Decoster Alpinetars. Then another couple of hours searching the web. Last night I spent about two hours watching the bluray, trying to figure out what was what. Thanks, I have checked out the MMM reference.
